Your Opportunity at SECURE

Reporting to the Senior Manager, AP & AR, the Team Lead, AP will play a key role within the Finance and Accounting team. This position will provide day-to-day leadership to the Accounts Payable team, support efficient and accurate processing, and help ensure strong service to internal stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of the accounts payable process, along with experience leading, coaching, and developing a team.

A Day in The Life

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and expertise to the Accounts Payable Team
  • Confirm that all transactions comply with financial policies/procedures and designed controls
  • Ensure Vendor issues are investigated and resolved
  • Maintain consisted weekly cheque runs and ensure accurate and timely filing of all records
  • Provide support and assistance in an efficient and timely manner to internal stakeholders
  • Understand the chart of accounts and ensuring coding is accurately applied
  • Prepare AP process documentation and AP training manualsAssist with efficiency process review
  • Support month end review and procedures

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The individual in this role will have:

  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in team management
  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Open Invoice/Medius is an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent attention to detail
