Your Opportunity at SECURE

As the Manager, Optimization & Operations Projects, you will lead a team of project management professionals responsible for identifying and delivering solutions that improve SECURE’s operational performance. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership, business development, project execution, and stakeholder management to create measurable value across SECURE’s operations in North America.

 

This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta.

You will lead a collaborative, knowledgeable team that values accountability, continuous improvement, and practical problem-solving. Success in this team is built through strong relationships, open communication, shared expertise, and a commitment to supporting one another.

Work Environment

This role offers a dynamic combination of strategic planning, technical project leadership, and time spent engaging with operational teams and stakeholders in the field. Regular travel to SECURE project sites across North America is required, with safety, innovation, and customer service guiding how work is planned and delivered.

A Day in The Life

  • Leading and coaching a team of technical professionals to successfully execute on all optimization solutions and while supporting the integrity of ongoing Operations through MOC projects
  • Provide technical leadership in identifying and implementing optimization opportunities
  • Support the Optimization and MOC programs through building trust and maintaining strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with SECURE’s specifications, standards, processes and required project documentation
  • Adhere to, enhance and promote SECURE’s project management best practices
  • Use data analytics platforms (e.g., VTScada, Pi Coresite, PowerBI, Python) to justify decisions and measure success
  • Translating our vision, mission, values, and business unit goals into team and individual priorities
  • Developing and maintain an organizational structure that remains lean and scalable to deliver on business needs
  • Building technical and managerial competency and capacity with a focus on growing employee knowledge, skillset and motivation
  • Foster a culture of customer service, delivering results, accountability, respect and safety
  • Strive to execute on solving problems and executing on solutions, with a collaborative work mindset
  • Ability to travel to Secure project sites throughout North America on a regular basis
  • Group compensation and performance reviews
  • Operate to the highest standards of safety at all times, plan and hazard assess all work activities, and mitigate risks identified in the assessment process
  • Adhere to the safety obligations of SECURE, and aid in the development and delivery of programs and initiatives to staff

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • P. Eng., CET, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in managing projects up to $5 million in value and demonstrated growth in complexity of stakeholder engagement
  • Professional experience in managing with proven project management best practices
  • The ability to work collaboratively and communicate with varied stakeholders and groups
  • Creativity in developing and evaluating alternative solutions to realize business opportunities
  • Ability to develop relationships within a project setting
  • Strong writing skills needed for the development of clear and concise project planning documents
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings including Plot Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, and General Arrangements
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient in the use of project management software (MS Project, Excel, etc.)
  • Formal training or certification in Project Management is considered an asset
  • Previous work experience in Operations is considered an asset
  • An understanding of SECURE’s services and operations
