Your Opportunity at SECURE

Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 8, 12, or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
  • Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Corporate Development team supports the growth of our business by identifying and evaluating commercial opportunities that deliver customer-focused, cost-effective solutions. As a student, you will gain hands-on experience assisting with research, analysis, and project support, contributing to initiatives that span from idea generation through to implementation.

 

This role is based out of our Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary, Alberta.

The Team

You’ll be part of a collaborative corporate development team that works across multiple disciplines, including operations, engineering, finance, and commercial. The team values curiosity, analytical thinking, and proactive problem-solving, and will provide opportunities to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects.

Work Environment

This is a full-time student position based in our Brookfield office in downtown Calgary, working Monday to Friday. You’ll work in a professional, collaborative office environment with exposure to corporate development, commercial strategy, financial analysis, and business planning.

 

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across operations, engineering, finance, and commercial teams while gaining hands-on experience supporting growth initiatives and strategic business opportunities.

A Day in The Life

  • Support research and analysis of oilfield activity, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Assist with financial modelling, valuation, and return analysis under guidance from the team.
  • Contribute to the preparation of business cases, presentations, and briefing materials for internal use.
  • Participate in data gathering, regulatory research, and project documentation.
  • Help with stakeholder and customer support activities where needed.
  • Support ad-hoc corporate development projects as they arise.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a post-secondary program such as Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline, and returning to studies after the work term.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of financial modelling is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about corporate development and business growth initiatives.
