Your Opportunity at SECURE

Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 8, 12, or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
  • Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Marketing & Communications student will support internal and external communications initiatives, assist with content preparation, and contribute to projects that strengthen SECURE’s brand and employee experience. This is an entry-level learning role where you’ll gain exposure to corporate communications and be guided by experienced professionals.

This role is based out of our Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary, Alberta.

The Team

You’ll join a supportive Marketing & Communications team that values collaboration, creativity, and adaptability. The team manages a wide range of initiatives, from employee engagement to external campaigns, providing you with the opportunity to learn across multiple areas of PR and communications.

Work Environment

This is a full-time student position based in our Brookfield office in downtown Calgary, working Monday to Friday. You'll work in a collaborative, creative, and fast-paced environment, supporting a variety of internal and external communications initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the organization, contribute to content development, assist with employee engagement activities, and gain hands-on experience in corporate communications, marketing, and brand management.

A Day in The Life

  • Assist in drafting and editing internal communications (emails, newsletters, intranet updates).
  • Support external communications, including drafting social media posts and monitoring engagement.
  • Help prepare presentation materials and event communications.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of employee or community events.
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining communications databases.
  • Contribute ideas and provide support on ongoing communications projects.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with design or social media tools is an asset.
  • Creative, curious, and eager to learn in a professional environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple priorities with guidance.
