Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Terminal Operator will monitor conditions of the pipeline gathering system including product quality ensuring compliance with all safety and government regulations. This individual will ensure that the pipeline system and tank farm blending operation is operating at a high level of efficiency. This is a dual-purpose role which includes monitoring a pipeline system via SCADA equipment, working outside and in a lab performing basic product quality tests.

Work Environment

This position is located at our Kerrobert terminal and offers a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule, rotating between days and nights, with 12-hour shifts.

A Day in The Life

  • Operate and continuously monitor the pipeline gathering system via SCADA control system with limited supervision.
  • Ensure accurate on-spec blending of multiple products and execute daily pumping schedules and blending requirements.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to abnormal operating conditions, alarm conditions, leak detection events, and emergency situations.
  • Log all pertinent day-to-day data, communicate information during shift handovers, and prioritize required console activities.
  • Perform plant rounds, equipment checks, basic sampling, lab tests, and day-to-day site activities including minor maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Conduct visitor and contractor orientations and evaluate contractor performance as required.
  • Complete work permits, job hazard assessments, and support safe execution of work activities.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) training exercises and support updates to ERP, operating manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and assist with incident reporting and resolution.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Facility Manager.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Intermediate understanding of SCADA systems and hardware
  • A minimum of 5 years pipeline operations and procedures experience
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and successful completion of pre-employment testing.
  • Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG, Ground Disturbance, ICS
  • Ability to clearly and accurately document work activities and maintain effective communication with the Facility Manager and key stakeholders.

  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and excellent customer service.

  • Ability to effectively train and mentor others on plant processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
