As the Dispatcher, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the logistics team. You’ll coordinate service call-ins from customers and requests from the Waste Services team, ensuring all are addressed in a timely manner. Using your expertise in dispatch operations, bin tracking, and route planning, you will develop cost-effective routes that minimize travel time and meet customer needs. You’ll also support and guide HDV Drivers to operate safely and in alignment with SECURE’s values, while maintaining compliance with company procedures and ensuring accurate documentation.
The Dispatch role is a full-time position based out of our Edmonton office, scheduled Monday to Friday with 8-hour workdays.
Grade 12 diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
A minimum of 3 years’ experience operating Dispatch and Load Tracking Systems.
Experience in the Waste or Transportation industry is preferred.
Working knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry, including oilfield roads, orientation requirements, and site access/egress limitations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with dispatching software or waste tracking systems is considered an asset.
Familiarity with TDG regulations and Provincial/Federal DOT regulations and permit requirements.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to operational issues.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
