Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Site Supervisor leads safe, efficient day-to-day operations on the project site, ensuring work aligns with SECURE’s purpose and values. They provide on-site guidance, coaching, and oversight to crew members while maintaining strong safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures the right personnel and equipment are in place to complete project work safely, effectively, and on schedule. The successful candidate must reside within one hour of Kitimat, BC to support daily site operations.

Work Environment

The Site Supervisor role is structured as a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8-10 hour shifts. Overtime may be required based on business demands.

A Day in The Life

Safety

  • Lead by example by following and enforcing all SECURE safety policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate with the Safety department, participate in safety meetings, and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately each day.

  • Initiate incident notifications when required and ensure proper response protocols are followed.

  • Maintain all project-specific safety documentation and ensure it is easily accessible on site.

Site Coordination

  • Oversee all site personnel and third-party vendors, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, deliveries, and resources to meet project timelines.

  • Support Project Managers and Project Coordinators by communicating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants and helping resolve on-site issues.

  • Ensure Purchase Orders or Change Orders are issued before any planned or additional work proceeds.

  • Maintain a daily activity log, conduct site orientations, and provide daily progress updates, including identifying schedule impacts.

Cost Tracking

  • Ensure all purchases and orders reference the appropriate job-specific PO.

  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator to confirm labour hours, equipment usage, and cost tracking.

  • Assist with monitoring project costs at the direction of the Project Manager or Superintendent.

Site Checks

  • Verify completion of pre-operational equipment checks and ensure equipment is kept clean, fueled, lubricated, and well maintained.

  • Maintain general site housekeeping and ensure safety barriers, markings, and signage are in place.

  • Follow up on weekly site inspections and report any deficiencies, required repairs, or safety concerns.

Additional Duties

  • Ensure daily work aligns with the project scope and client expectations.

  • Operate equipment when required and support general site tasks such as waste disposal, routine activities, coordinating repairs, and improving site efficiency.

  • Work closely with the client on day-to-day site needs to support project success.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1A or Class 3 considered an asset).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in waste operations within an industrial setting.

  • Strong commitment to safety with the ability to lead by example and support crews in developing safe work practices and accurate safety documentation.

  • Solid understanding of supervisory responsibilities under provincial safety legislation.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to provide effective leadership and clear guidance to staff.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work professionally with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, and prepare technical reports.

  • Proven ability to build positive working relationships at all levels and act as a consistent, reliable leader on site.

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with maintaining and servicing heavy-duty equipment.

  • Experience with vac trucks and transloading is considered an asset.

  • Valid industry safety tickets.

  • Fit-for-work each day, with the physical stamina required for demanding site conditions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).
