Program Eligibility:

  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or valid work permit).

Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Public Relations Co-op Student will support internal and external communications initiatives, assist in preparing content, and contribute to projects that strengthen SECURE’s brand and employee experience. This is an entry-level learning role, where you’ll gain exposure to corporate communications while being guided by experienced professionals.

This is a 4-month co-op internship, beginning in May 2026 and running full-time, Monday to Friday.

 

This role is based in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate must reside in Calgary or be willing to relocate on their own accord for the opportunity and must remain in Calgary for the duration of the working term.

The Team

You’ll join a supportive Marketing & Communications team that values collaboration, creativity, and adaptability. The team manages a wide range of initiatives, from employee engagement to external campaigns, providing you with the opportunity to learn across multiple areas of PR and communications.

A Day in The Life

  • Assist in drafting and editing internal communications (emails, newsletters, intranet updates).
  • Support external communications, including drafting social media posts and monitoring engagement.
  • Help prepare presentation materials and event communications.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of employee or community events.
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining communications databases.
  • Contribute ideas and provide support on ongoing communications projects.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, with co-op eligibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with design or social media tools is an asset.
  • Creative, curious, and eager to learn in a professional environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple priorities with guidance.
