Program Eligibility:

  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or valid work permit).
  • Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug test if the role is considered safety sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

This role will support SECURE’s Logistics team by assisting with shipment coordination, inventory tracking, and data analysis to enhance supply chain efficiency. The student will gain hands-on experience in logistics management, shipping documentation, and operational workflows while contributing directly to smoother operations and special projects.

This role is based in Red Deer, Alberta

The Team

The student will join SECURE’s Logistics team, a collaborative group that manages shipment coordination, supply chain processes, and inventory management. The team works closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal business units, providing the student with exposure to both strategic logistics planning and day-to-day operational execution.

A Day in The Life

  • Track and maintain inventory records across multiple facilities, assisting with periodic audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor logistics schedules and shipment tracking, updating the team on potential delays and helping ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist in preparing shipping documentation, including bills of lading (BOLs), customs paperwork, and related compliance records.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments to confirm accuracy against orders and documentation.
  • Input, update, and maintain logistics data in company systems.
  • Support coordination with suppliers for inbound and outbound logistics, including confirming order details and delivery schedules.
  • Analyze transportation and warehousing costs, helping identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
  • Document and evaluate logistics workflows, recommending areas for process improvement.
  • Assist with special projects to advance operational efficiency and supply chain performance.
  • Provide general support to the logistics team as needed.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with logistics or inventory systems is an asset.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics concepts is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support cost analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on diverse assignments, including special projects.
