Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Waste Labourer is responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Work Environment

The role of Waste Labourer is a full-time position, working five days a week for 50–60 hours, with the potential for overtime depending on operational demands and deadlines. Candidates must also be flexible with shift rotations, as scheduling may change based on customer requirements and business needs. This position requires candidates to be local to Kitimat, BC

A Day in The Life

  • Repack and bulk similar waste for safe and efficient transportation and disposal
  • Perform physical lab packing of chemicals and assist with sampling waste for lab testing
  • Operate equipment including , processing equipment, and power tools safely and in compliance with standards
  • Conduct inspections, maintenance checks, and basic repairs as required
  • Provide logistics support, including delivery, pickup, and loading of waste containers, ensuring they are field-ready for clients
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of waste and recyclables in electronic and/or manual systems
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, tailgate meetings, and promote a strong safety culture by following SECURE’s HSE policies
  • Support on-site project execution and participate in field or emergency response when required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Skid steer experience is considered an asset
  • 1–2 years of General Labour experience
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Waste management experience is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and excellent customer service skills
  • Physically fit and able to perform physical tasks on a daily basis including lifting, moving containers and other heavy materials, along with the ability to spend a major portion of each day on your feet
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments and long demanding work days
