Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Shipper/Receiver III, you will work within our Specialty Chemicals division and be responsible for ensuring that all blended chemicals and products are stored and shipped correctly.  

This role is based out of Blackfalds, Alberta.

Work Environment

A Day in The Life

  • Attend morning “tool box” meeting to be aware of daily activities
  • Unload incoming deliveries and loading products for shipment per company policy and TDG Requirements
  • Keep warehouse/product storage areas neat, clean, organized and safe
  • Assist in stenciling, labeling, palletizing, shrink-wrapping/banding of materials for shipment.
  • Accurately and efficiently perform all tasks as assigned
  • Use small hand tools and operate handling equipment
  • On Call (Weekend and Evening) responsibilities as required
  • Assist with loading and unloading empty drums when required

Perform various other duties as assigned by the Lead Shipper/Receiver, Plant Manager or Plant Foreman

  • Understand and comply with all safety, environmental requirements and company policies
  • Perform all activities in accordance with established safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Play an active role in efforts to improve the working environment to ensure the safety and health of all employees
  • Assist in spill cleanup when required
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Attention to detail
  • Valid Forklift Certification
  • TDG, WHMIS 2015, First Aid Certifications
  • Requires 1-2 year directly related forklift experience
  • Physically fit, able to lift 50 pounds, and able to work on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner and also in a team environment
  • Positive Attitude
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather
  • Maintenance and computer skills are a strong plus
  • Oil and Gas chemical knowledge is considered a plus
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work closely with fellow employees

The following are considered assets in this role:

  • 1-2 years of directly related experience operating a forklift with liquid based materials
  • Maintenance and computer skills are a strong plus
  • Oil and Gas chemical knowledge and understanding
