Your Opportunity at SECURE

This role involves leading the technical design and development of complex solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing code, managing source control, and collaborating with various stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Additionally, the role encompasses system optimization, custom report development, data migration, and ensuring adherence to best practices for code development and deployment.

Work Environment

This full-time, permanent position is based in Calgary, Alberta and requires 40 hours per week in an in-office setting.

A Day in The Life

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of complex solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Develop and optimize X++ code, extensions, and integrations with third-party applications.
  • Manage source control using Azure DevOps, ensuring consistent version control, branch management, and seamless integration of customizations, extensions, and configurations across environments.
  • Collaborate with functional leads and business users to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for complex system issues.
  • Develop and maintain custom reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Electronic Reporting (ER).
  • Implement data migration strategies and support system upgrades.
  • Follow best practices for code development, version control, and deployment.
  • Lead code reviews and enforce compliance with best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, provide knowledge transfer, and conduct training sessions for development/technical teams.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The individual in this role will have:        

  • 7+ years of experience in D365 F&O technical architecture and development.
  • Proven experience in leading complex customizations and integrations on large-scale enterprise projects.
  • Strong X++ programming expertise, particularly in Finance and Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure integration technologies (Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Event Grid, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, Power BI, and Data Management Framework (DMF).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated deployments).
  • Experience with Lifecycle Services (LCS) and Power Platform Admin Center for D365 environment management.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The following are considered assets in this role:

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer or similar certification(s).
  • Experience in D365 Dual-write and Power Platform integrations (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies with hands-on implementation experience.
  • Familiarity with automatic testing languages and/or tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
