Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Technical Service Representative drives and supports the growth of our business by identifying and evaluating opportunities for customer driven solutions that are cost effective. This individual will help define key business opportunities for SECURE's Production Solutions business line. This position is located in Fort St. John, British Columbia.

A Day in The Life

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in the development and commercialization of new products by working with technical, operational, sales and marketing management
  • Field testing and sampling to provide routine analysis for specific production chemical programs.
  • Provide and write technical product and application recommendations for customers
  • Applies significant knowledge of company, products, services and industry best practices while serving as a technical advisor for key customers.
  • Leverage knowledge of production solutions to enhance SECURE’s overall offering to customers
  • Comprehends and promotes best practices through training of others, and implementation throughout the field chemical programs
  • Provide technical support and interface between the sales and laboratory teams
  • Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge of the industry / market segments by monitoring new developments, new products, new research, new concepts, etc. in the industry
  • Develops strategies for maximizing the account’s profitability while creating, implementing, and managing an account plan in conjunction with the business plan
  • Continually assess customer service levels to ensure clients receive the highest level of service
  • Meets with customers/potential customers to execute sales personally to develop, foster, and nurture strong client relationships through ongoing contact and follow-up
  • Proactively determines current and future customer needs
  • Continually learning new information and developing new strategies
  • Use of lab equipment to test and qualify products to be used in field programs.
  • Performing other duties as required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The individual in this role will have: 

  • Post-secondary education with a bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, etc. is required
  • Experience in oilfield operations is considered an asset
  • Previous Chemical Technical Sales experience is considered an asset
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites as needed
  • Adherence to all Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to prepare technical reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and negotiation skills
  • Confident, highly motivated and determined with a good business sense and professional manner
  • Knowledge of production processes practiced in Canada is an asset
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
