Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for operating over dimension/overweight units, in diverse weather and challenging work site environments.

 

This role is based out of Brooks, Alberta.

Work Environment

This position would be well-suited for individuals with forestry, construction, or oilfield industry experience, who wish to work closer to home and have a set schedule and hours of work.

A Day in The Life

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Completion and submission on a timely basis of all documentation as required. This includes equipment inspection reports and time tickets.
  • Abide by all company and customer specific safety procedures.
  • Inspect all material to ensure compliance. 
  • Communicate with customer regarding expected onsite arrival and service requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment / loads that are being transported meet requirements.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Technical

  • Ability to accurately maintain Inspections on a daily basis, as per legislated requirements.
  • Ability to conduct proper pre/post trip inspections of vehicles for safe operation prior to, during, and after use.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with respect to the maintenance, servicing, and repair of excavators.
  • Ability to complete minor servicing and maintenance of excavators , including but not limited to, greasing, replacement of air filters, and settings.
  • Ability to safely operate excavators through difficult weather conditions and challenging work site environments.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Fit-for-Work each day.

Interpersonal

  • Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear manner.
  • Good listening skills along with ability to accept and follow direction.
  • Open and honest with team members as it relates to all aspects of the work.
  • Ability to work alone and cover for supervision when required.
  • Self-starter with the ability to understand operation objectives and can complete tasks with limited supervision.
