As our Site Supervisor you will be responsible for… leadership and project management of various project.  

 

This role is based out of Kamloops, British Columbia.

A Day in The Life

The role of the Site Supervisor encompasses many activities including but not limited to:

 

Project Planning:

  • Support the CMT as required to ensure detailed and proper job planning.
  • Support the development of a procurement plan for goods and services, including scrap metal preparation, sorting, transportation and rail logistics
  • Provide input into the development of the project execution plan and required work packages, including rail coordination and logistics planning
  • Assist in the development of the safety plan and hazard assessment, update as
  • Provide input into Project risk assessment and develop mitigation plans to
  • Review the Project Execution Plan(s) with the
  • Co-ordinate required support levels and training for the onsite

Project Execution: 

  • Review all job plans and work packages with the CMT and the
  • Maintain safety on site ensuring all SECURE's safety policies and procedures are
  • Ensure Site ERP is posted, and drills held as required to ensure all workers on site understand their role in case of an emergency.
  • Inspect Site and equipment to verify no hazardous conditions exist prior to any work starting and after each shift is complete.
  • Oversee all site crews as specific project work is released.
  • Ensure on daily basis all compliance and regulatory issues have been addressed and permits are in place prior to start of (WCB, Labor Standards, Transportation, Access, Safety, Environment, etc.)
  • Advise the CMT on job status, daily progress of all aspects of the job including quality, production, cost, schedule and any safety incidents or impacts to the environment as well as next planned activities.
  • Report and manage any project changes or emergencies that would affect, scope, cost or schedule, in consultation with the CMT.
  • Ensure costs are maintained with daily tracking.
  • Daily capture and input of job-related information into the project management system for labor, equipment, materials, third party charges and progress measurements.
  • As a project continues, confer with CPM and Management to monitor construction progress including, milestones, cost, productivity and compliance.
  • Execute Quality plan to ensure construction standards exists, meets the contractual standards and specifications and estimates are within budget and schedule. This is to include site photos daily, that show work progress.
  • Ensure they understand the information and documentation required on the job site to pass a Safety Audit and it is available at all
  • On substantial completion of construction work, support the CPM to identify and/or correct all deficiencies.
  • As directed by the CPM, advise the Project Controls Coordinator and Project Cost Accountant on daily status or status changes.
  • Provide other reports as directed by the CPM.

Other Duties:

  • Customer liaison for current and future.
  • Work directly with the Superintendent and CMT to lead and improve People Development through facilitation of learning and development discussions, while continuously seeking opportunities to grow direct reports.
  • Ensure they perform, and present themselves, as professionals representing Secure with a positive attitude.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with an emphasis in the area of project supervision.
  • A valid Class 1 License would be considered a strong asset.
  • Experience operating equipment with a magnet, material handler, or shear attachment would be considered a strong asset.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for this position.
  • Able to build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization is essential, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Prior equipment operating experience.
  • Valid industry safety tickets (H2S, First Aid other would be an asset).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office software.
  • Work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
